  • Hi! I’m Nicole…

Like most creative people I have always been surrounded by other artisans of all kinds in my life. My friends and family encompass all things “art” from stained glass makers and quilters, to photographers and web designers. My mother is a quilt and fiber artist. Color and its function were of the utmost importance in our home. I spent the formative years of my life in Bethel New York, the site of the original Woodstock festival in 1969. The community and heartfelt emotion of that concert lived on long after the show was over. It pours into the lives and work of all who lived/live there. You can’t help but to have an appreciation for all things creative. My palate growing up was a typical fall in NY, a myriad of colors as the trees turn from green to gold and red and brown and yellow. This as well as my friends and family are where my appreciation for art and nature grew roots.

The last seven years of my life have been spent in Naples, Florida. I reside here with my husband of 7 years and our seven year old son and 3 year old daughter. I enjoy Naples very much. I can’t imagine living anywhere else. In these last few years, boating and the beach have become less of a pastime and more of a lifestyle.

Any artist can bring “a style” to their work. I think my background affords you at least two. I am a little New York, a little Florida. A little bit, outdoorsy and a little five star. I am capable of traditional, and revel in the contemporary and unique. I invite you to see what our ideas when put together can do. I promise you that it will be distinctive and individual.

I love nothing more than a chance to be extra creative and think outside the box. The following images are a personal project of mine that I have been wanting to do for a long time. I was lucky enough to find a super talented make-up artist and models as excited about the project as I am. This is the first in a series of Dia De Las Muertas images I have planned.  Dia de las muertas or Day of the dead is a Mexican celebration of souls that have passed. The holiday is celebrated on November 1st and second in combination with the Catholic all saints day. The celebration involves building altars dedicated to friends and family using “sugar skulls” and marigolds, and often using items of importance to the person whom passed.  If you are interested in being shot in the following style yourself contact myself or Hope Henderson at Hope Artistry.
